The ProCam project funded by the European Commission’s Justice Programme is a multijurisdictional project on audiovisual recording of police interrogations of suspects, including minors and vulnerable persons. The overall objective of this multi-jurisdictional research is to assess whether audiovisual recording constitutes a simple and practical measure that can help create more transparency and accountability in pre-trial proceedings. The ProCam project is led by the Hungarian Helsinki Committee and covers Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Hungary and Italy.

The outcomes of the project, summarizing the results of the domestic researches are country reports. The Hungarian country report is available in Hungarian and in English.

A further output is a comparative report, which aims at advocating the importance of audiovisual recording for strengthening the procedural rights of suspects and the accused in criminal proceedings, and as a safeguard to prevent miscarriages of justice.
