The ProCam project funded by the European Commission’s Justice Programme is an international project on audiovisual recording of police interrogations of suspects, including minors and vulnerable persons. The overall objective of this multi-jurisdictional research is to assess whether audiovisual recording constitutes a simple and practical measure that can help create more transparency and accountability in pre-trial proceedings. The ProCam project is led by the Hungarian Helsinki Committee and covers Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Hungary and Italy. The outcomes of the project are five country reports, and a comparative report, which will be pulished in May, 2019 aiming at advocating the importance of audiovisual recording to strengthen the procedural rights of the suspects and the accused in criminal proceedings, and as a safeguard to  prevent miscarriages of justice.
